Molly Butler
Psychologist
Molly Butler, Psy.D., NCSP, is an Illinois-licensed and Nationally Certified School Psychologist. Dr. Butler earned her doctoral degree in School Psychology from The Chicago School. She previously earned a Master’s degree in Education and an Educational Specialist degree from the University of Kentucky after completing her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Wofford College. Dr. Butler is also completing her post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology with Neuro Educational Specialists.
Dr. Butler has worked in school, private practice, and community mental health settings, giving her broad clinical experience across diverse populations. Dr. Butler’s experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and serious mental illness. She completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship at a community mental health center in the suburbs of Chicago, where she conducted neuropsychological evaluations across the lifespan. In addition, Dr. Butler has experience providing individual and group therapy, as well as court-ordered therapeutic services. She utilizes evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and play therapy.
Prior to earning her doctoral degree, Dr. Butler practiced as a school psychologist in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, predominantly serving children in early childhood and elementary school settings. She has extensive experience conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for special education eligibility. Dr. Butler has a special interest in early childhood development, play-based assessment, and the early identification of neurodevelopmental differences.
Dr. Butler has published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at local and national conferences. In her free time, Dr. Butler enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and dogs. Dr. Butler played college volleyball and enjoys coaching volleyball at the high school and club levels.
